NHL 09 League Anyone?

Hey just wanted to know if you guys would like to get a NHL 09 Season started when the game comes out. My original plan was to make another great SIM NFL League however I was thinking it would be to much to have 2 sim football leagues and 1 sim hockey league. I'd love to have a great sim football league like this and a great hockey sim league, I'm just wondering how many people would be interested in a NHL 09 League when the game comes out.

I am 100% in! I love NHl 08 and I think NHL 09 will be incredible!!!

I to loved NHL 08 and 07 (I loved 07 and the dekeing system) You got caps, everyone else just put down the teams you would like to own also. NHL is like NFL to me I love playing as every team in the game, I'll let everyone pick their team before I do. I live in Michigan so obviously I'm a huge Detroit Red Wings guy however I don't like using great teams in leagues I always kinda feel bad cause if I'm winning with them it's more or less the team then me haha. I wont be picking the Detroit Red Wings so they are up for grabs my 3 best teams in 08 were Isles, Dallas, Minnesota but like I said before I'll be any team so pick your team it wont matter to me.

This forum is also to see how many people we will have to do a league 12,16 or more.

I am posting showing interest in your league. I am not sure if I am going to purchase this game, I will definitly rent it first. If I do buy the game I am in your league for sure.

Have to reccomend the purchase of NHL 09 Paul. It was a FANTASTIC game last year, in my opinion it was sports game of the year edging out NBA 2k8 by a small margin.

Same here, it was by far the best sports game out last year. I believe it's been the best sports game out since 07 to be honest, I have been disappointed in the last 2 NBA2k games though. NBA2k6 was probably my favorite basketball game of all time.

I don't follow hockey whatsoever, but I've played hockey games before and I had alot of fun. I wish I knew more so I could pick a team and join, but I'm just too unfamiliar. But if NBA Live has leagues when it comes out I would love to be in one, playing with the same people in two different sports leagues sounds like alot of fun.

NHL 08 was an awesome game. I'm not sure myself if I'm going to buy it. Maybe I'll gamefly it.

Actually instead of a league we should get a team of guys and play in that new on-line mode. Apparently you can assemble a team of guys (everyone controls a player, no computer players) and create a team and play on-line. Everyone controls 1 player and you play with an up-close action camera like your on the ice.

As you get better you can build up your guys attributes.Its pretty much like an on-line superstar mode where you create your own guy and play with other created players on the same team against another full team of created players. This is the coolest on-line feature to ever be implemented on a sports game IMHO. We could have alot of fun with this and get everyone together one night a week to play.

Just a suggestion

Now I could see myself doing this in NBA, but not hockey. Basketball I think would be a lot funner and hold my interest longer. I may be wrong...

you can have the penguins since my red wings kicked your sorry asses in the cup finals and then stole your 2nd best player who didnt give up after the penguins kew they had no shot at beating us hahaha. I would love to do the 6 person team thing it does sound like fun. They made that where if oyu dont play your position right your fucked.

It sounds tempting to get hockey just for the feature chrislax mentioned, that is what madden and NBA live should have. If I had any knowledge or skill at hockey games I would love to join, NBA live would kick so much ass if they had that feature.

Paul you dont need to know that much hockey to pick the game up and love it, it's a great easy game to learn and hard game to master it's like Texas Holdem kinda, haha.

Never even thought about buying a hockey game because I hate hockey. But that video definitely has me interested in this game! It's such an awesome idea! It's sort of like those sports MMORPGs where you make your player and sign with a real team with other real people, except in this, you actually get to control your player, and there are no levels, so it won't be like where all the people who've been around a while will dominate!

I know the basics of hockey, I liked the game in 07, not sure if it was EA or 2k though. I will probably have to pick up this game, it looks incredible. When is Madden getting an online mode like that?

That looks like it kick ass, and I'm no hockey fan either. If I could join a team where the people could have the patience to let me get better I would definitely consider getting it. I'm naturally good at sports games so it should'nt be too difficult to figure out, but maybe I'll try to find a used hockey game for under 20$ to practice in the meantime. I think you can. I was checking out some of the NBA Live 09 features, which comes out 10/07/08 by the way, and they said their will be custom leagues, and 5 on 5 online basketball.
I would love to play 5 on 5, but I would hope that they emphasized defense more than offense. When I picture the Nuggets with five real people, I just see a bunch of ball hogs shooting a bunch of 3's. That's why they should make shooting a little more creative, but also make it so people can play good defense. I guess their will be a ton of new features, and overall it looked pretty good, but I still think, throughout all the stupid games sometimes, Madden is the best sports franchise. I don't think an NBA League would be nearly as fun as this, because Madden does the best job of replicating all of the teams.

i would do it but im not a fan of hockey and played the demo and it was really hard to play

That's an insult to hockey. Hockey was nowhere near as boring as Texas Holdem even when they had the 2-line pass rule in effect ... None-the-less if I'm not totally poor I'll consider it but, I dunno how that's gonna work out.

Well you must not play texas holdem like me, go to the casino and play 1k buy in and tell me how boring it is I'm not saying that to be like i'm rich or anything i'm just saying if you think texas holdem is boring then your not playing for enough money haha, but then again it is your opinion so who am i to judge
